This tightly pearled tea is a white tea scented with jasmine. The little pearls are attractive in both scent and color - a pale olive stripe runs the circumference of each sphere and the jasmine scent is sweet with sleepy floral fullness. I used about a teaspoon of pearls to 8 ounces of 180 degree water. Steeping for three minutes, the pearls almost completely unfurl and produce a pretty cider colored cup. The floral scent is fully present but not overwhelming and the taste of the tea comes through in the cup as well - wonderfully robust with a full, roasty-toasty base note that really makes this an enjoyable tea to me. I love the full, sweet floral quality of this tea. It's very relaxing and enjoyable to drink. A second infusion at a slightly lower temperature (more like 170) yielded another tasty, sweet cup but with noticeably less robust flavor wise. However, enjoyable nuances of melon permeate the second infusion with overtly jasmine-y notes less obvious. A fullness buoys up each sip, though the first infusion really captured my tastes the most. This would be an enjoyable choice for anyone enjoying lightly scented white teas, pearled teas, or jasmine teas.
