Genmaicha is a Japanese tea that combines bancha green tea with hulled rice kernels. The tea was first used by Japanese peasants to make expensive leaves go further. Word of the tea’s delicious savoury flavour spread quickly and soon genmaicha was a national favourite.

Brew: 2 tsp per cup; 80°C water; infuse for 3 minutes.
